A Conversation about Certification

CMA has been investigating for some time establishing a Certification Model for Christian churches, schools and ministries. With cooperation from ECFA in the USA, and CCCC in Canada, CMA has developed the draft program, commencing with a small cohort of 'Trial Members' in late 2014.

The model includes a 'Seal of Approval' for organisations who meet the standards, an online profile report ('Who we Are, What we Do, Where We've Come From, Where We're Going'), and two companion websites: and - where certified organisations can list their projects for funding, and where donors can search for organisations by the kind of ministry they engage in.

The Model is conceptually well-advanced, the Standards Committee has been formed, some initial seed funding is in place, and a number of 'Trial Members' have agreed to join this year, in order to test the program in a controlled environment. But we now wish to invite more detailed feedback from the sector, before finally bedding everything down.

At this session CMA National Director Gary Williams will outline the draft program in detail, and then walk through each component of the program, seeking feedback and accepting questions or comments for the Standards Committee to consider at their next meeting.
