The world of publishing, publishers, physical books and journals, bookshops and libraries is changing. We have seen the demise of many bookshops and although some booksellers are bravely declaring that there will always be a place for physical shops I am now less certain about that that I was 12 months ago.

This edition of Crucible contains some great articles and resources and we hope you enjoy and appreciate them all. But, unfortunately, I reckon there are certain factors in Australian theological education that are inhibiting the production of more of them. Now I could be wrong in the argument I am about to make, so I invite responses to the following argument.

Crucible is one means by which those who have thought about the relationship of biblical and theological themes to the ministry and mission of the church can communicate their thoughts to others.
